Veteran Yoruba actor Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late friend and colleague, Sikiru Adeshina Adebola Akanji, famously known as Arakangudu.
Taking to social media, Mr. Latin poured out his emotions in a touching message that remembered Arakangudu not just as an actor, but as a brother, confidant, and loyal friend. He described the late actor as a man of quiet strength, humility, and unmatched talent.
“Today, my heart is filled with deep emotions as I remember my dear friend and colleague,” Mr. Latin wrote. “It still feels surreal that you are no longer with us, but your memory remains ever fresh in my heart.”
Mr. Latin praised Arakangudu for his passion for acting and his memorable roles as a herbalist, warrior, or occultist in Yoruba movies. He recalled their time together on set, long conversations about life, and Arakangudu’s commitment to the future of Yoruba cinema.
He noted that Arakangudu was a man who stood by his friends and was always supportive. Mr. Latin expressed deep gratitude for the encouragement Arakangudu gave him during his early years in the industry.
