“I’m Still Married, Just Living Separately” — Veteran Actress Tola Oladokun Opens Up About Her Decision to Move Out of Her Husband’s House

Veteran Yoruba actress Tola Oladokun has shared intimate details about her personal life, explaining why she chose to move out of her husband’s house despite still being married.

In a candid interview with Oyinmomo TV, the respected Nollywood actress, known for her powerful roles in Yoruba films, revealed that her decision was not due to any conflict or crisis in the marriage. Instead, she explained it was a personal and thoughtful choice, shaped by the reality of living in a polygamous setting.

Oladokun stated clearly that her marriage remains intact, and she continues to bear her husband’s surname. She said,

“I still bear his surname, ‘Oladokun’. But my husband has his house, and God helped me build mine. So, I left my husband’s house and moved into my own house. However, I told him I’ll visit on weekends.”

She emphasized that the change in living arrangement was mutually understood and done with respect, not out of resentment or trouble.

The actress also took time to reflect on her early days in the film industry, speaking openly about how female entertainers were unfairly judged. She recounted how actresses were often accused of being unfaithful, and the societal stigma made it difficult for many to balance careers with marriage and motherhood.

Despite the challenges, Tola Oladokun said she remained focused and is proud of the life she has built. Her story is a powerful reminder of the strength it takes for women to navigate fame, family, and independence with dignity.
