Controversial Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi is back in the spotlight, stirring up fresh drama as he once again targets his colleagues Iyabo Ojo and Funke Akindele.
In a new video making rounds online, Fabiyi revisited the long-standing Baba Ijesha saga, calling out Iyabo Ojo for claiming during the heat of the scandal that she would stop him from traveling abroad. Reacting to this, Fabiyi revealed he had been married to a British woman for 10 years and had been traveling internationally for over two decades — long before either Iyabo or Funke Akindele.
“Iyabo Ojo said she’ll stop me from travelling, I was married to a British woman for 10 years, I started traveling abroad before Iyabo Ojo and Funke Akindele herself. Both Police investigation and Court didn’t establish the fact that baba ijesha slept with any child” - Yomi… pic.twitter.com/gXsm0HMS38

“During Baba Ijesha’s saga, Iyabo Ojo said she would stop me from travelling. But I’ve been traveling out of Nigeria for 20 years now. Neither Iyabo nor Funke travelled out before me,” he said. Fabiyi added that despite advice to sue Iyabo for defamation, he chose not to, leaving judgment to God. “It is only God who can recover all Baba Ijesha has lost,” he added.
Fabiyi also insisted that the court never confirmed Baba Ijesha had intercourse with any child, a statement that once again sparked outrage and reignited tensions online.
Yomi Fabiyi and Iyabo Ojo’s fallout began in 2021 during Baba Ijesha’s molestation case involving a 14-year-old girl under Princess’s care. The two actors became fierce critics of each other, throwing jabs publicly and clashing on Instagram.
In a 2021 leaked chat, Fabiyi expressed a desire to end the feud, telling Iyabo he missed their friendship and didn’t consider her an enemy. However, their rivalry only intensified over time.
In 2023, during the height of Mohbad’s tragic death, Fabiyi attacked Iyabo again — this time over her stance on Naira Marley. He criticized her for sending her adult children to Naira Marley’s house and questioned her credibility as a mother.
He further accused her of being linked to the controversial gossip blog, Gistlover, and condemned industry leaders for enabling people like her to thrive in Nollywood.
Despite his criticism, in December, Fabiyi surprised many by penning an emotional tribute to Iyabo. He explained that he hadn’t found closure over Baba Ijesha’s case and therefore hadn’t reconciled with her yet. Still, he expressed a lingering belief in her and wished her well.
The revived feud has once again sparked debate among fans and observers, with many calling for peace while others criticized Fabiyi for repeatedly reopening old wounds.
