Yemi My Lover Calls Out Olamide for Ignoring Him After Using His Name in a Song

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Ayebo, widely known as Yemi My Lover, has expressed his disappointment over music star Olamide’s alleged refusal to acknowledge or connect with him, despite using his name in one of his hit songs.

In a recent interview, Yemi revealed that Olamide was the first to sing with his name, using it as the title of a track in his 2013 album, Baddest Guy Ever Liveth. The actor said he was initially happy and thanked God when he heard the song, as he believed it was a blessing. He noted that his name has also been used by other stars, including Davido.

However, Yemi said his joy faded when Olamide failed to reach out. He recalled that Pasuma once asked if Olamide had compensated him for using his name. Upon learning that Yemi hadn’t received any acknowledgment, Pasuma reportedly contacted Olamide, who then took Yemi’s number and apologized. But despite that, Yemi claimed Olamide ignored his calls and messages for over six months.

“I called Olamide for more than six months. He never picked up. I sent messages; he didn’t read or reply, so I let him be,” Yemi shared.

This is not the first time Yemi My Lover has voiced concerns about being neglected. In mid-2023, he called out gospel singer Tope Alabi, saying she distanced herself from him after rising to fame, despite once being his apprentice in the movie industry. However, Yemi later withdrew his comments, clarifying that he spoke out of love and held no grudge against her.

Yemi’s revelations have sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some fans urging Olamide to address the matter, while others advised Yemi to move on.
