Veteran Nollywood actress, Tola Oladokun, has shocked many with a personal revelation during a recent interview. The respected Yoruba movie icon boldly stated that she has never kissed anyone in her life — and has no plans to ever do so.
Tola explained that kissing makes her extremely uncomfortable, adding that not even her husband engages in the act. She emphasized that she finds it intolerable and warned that anyone who tries to kiss her will face serious consequences.
“You’re asking an old woman such a question. I don’t kiss, oo. I haven’t kissed in my life. If someone tries it with me, we will fight. I will tell him that I don’t do such. When even my husband can’t bring his lips to kiss me, and I agree, who will I now do such with?” she stated.
Her confession has stirred mixed reactions among fans, with some praising her honesty and others expressing surprise at her values, especially as an actress in the entertainment industry.
In the same interview, the seasoned actress also took a moment to praise popular filmmaker Funke Akindele. She recalled how her professional relationship with Funke gave her career a significant boost. Tola shared that although she missed her first opportunity to work with the actress, a second chance eventually came — and it opened many doors for her in Nollywood.
Meanwhile, in a contrasting story, fellow actor Ijoba Lande once accused Funke Akindele of underpaying him. He claimed he spent a month filming at Amen Estate and received only ₦90,000. However, Lande later retracted his statement and issued a public apology, clarifying that his remarks were misunderstood. He admitted that Funke actually paid him more but that he left the project after raising concerns directly with her.
The difference in both experiences highlights the varying perspectives actors can have in the film industry — while some express gratitude, others may feel disappointed, often depending on individual expectations and experiences.
