Controversial Nigerian singer Portable has once again stirred up emotions online with his explosive reaction to the reported death of former President Muhammadu Buhari. In a now-viral video circulating on social media, the outspoken artist made bold and inflammatory comments that have drawn mixed reactions from Nigerians.
Speaking in Yoruba, Portable referenced the 2020 #EndSARS protest and the tragic shooting of peaceful demonstrators at the Lekki Toll Gate. He accused the late president of being responsible for the violent crackdown.
“The man that said they should shoot our people at Lekki Toll Gate is dead. Let us do good. May he die again in Heaven,” Portable said without mincing words.
In the same clip, the Zazu crooner reignited a long-standing conspiracy theory that claims Buhari had died years ago and was secretly replaced with a body double.
“The Buhari we saw after 2017 was not the real Buhari,” he added.
The video, which has since gone viral, has triggered a storm of reactions online. While some viewers supported Portable’s blunt remarks as a voice of the oppressed, others condemned the disrespect shown toward the late president.
As the nation reacts to the passing of the former leader, Portable’s comments have added fuel to an already tense moment in Nigeria’s political and social discourse.
