"I faced my most scared dream” Bimpe Akintunde Opens Up on Scary Labour Room Experience After Welcoming Second Child

Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has opened up about her emotional journey to motherhood, reflecting on her labour room experience just weeks after welcoming her second child, a baby girl.

A week ago, Bimpe announced the joyful news of her daughter’s arrival, sharing beautiful photos from her maternity shoot. She described her nine-month journey as one that “ended in praise” despite facing several health challenges.

On her Instagram page, the actress revealed that she faced her “most sacred dream” exactly four weeks ago when she entered the delivery room. According to her, it was the scariest moment of her life as she battled low blood pressure throughout her pregnancy.

Bimpe recalled collapsing on her colleague Kenny George during the filming of The Return of Sambala in Ikorodu earlier in February. Thankfully, her clinic was nearby, and she managed to drive herself there for emergency treatment. She disclosed that she was in and out of the hospital about six times during the pregnancy.

The actress also shared that she was haunted by scary dreams and even received “death revelations” from people who were not even aware that she was pregnant. Despite all these fears, she held on to her faith and kept telling close friends and family to keep her in prayers.

Recounting the moment of delivery, Bimpe said she had gone to her clinic for a routine check-up on July 17th but was advised to stay back after treatment. The next day, doctors confirmed her baby was on the way. She described how her water broke, contractions began, and in less than three hours, she delivered her daughter naturally—without surgery or complications.

Sharing her excitement, she wrote:

“Contraction no be anybody mate ooo… I kept praying, singing, and dancing. Behold, in less than 3 hours, my precious gift from God arrived! After almost 10 years, not CS, no complications, the fastest labour recorded in the clinic this year! Mom and daughter doing fine. Dear God, it can only be you.”

Bimpe Akintunde expressed her gratitude to God for seeing her through the difficult journey, calling it a “Friday to remember.”
