An Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos State has freed Comfort Emmanson, the passenger earlier accused of unruly behaviour and assault during an Ibom Air flight.
The presiding judge, Magistrate Olanrewaju Salami, announced the discharge on Wednesday after the police formally withdrew the five charges filed against her.
This development came after the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), held consultations with key stakeholders in the aviation industry.
According to Keyamo, the decision followed a careful review of the incident, appeals from concerned individuals, and the show of remorse by those involved.
He further disclosed that Ibom Air agreed to withdraw its complaint against Emmanson, who had been arrested in connection with the August 10 incident.
