Nollywood actress Opeyemi Aiyeola is grieving the loss of someone very dear to her. The actress took to Instagram to share a symbolic image of a white bird in flight, announcing the heartbreaking news.
In an emotional follow-up post, Opeyemi revealed that she has been unable to sleep, with her heart heavy and tears flowing uncontrollably. She described the loss as a deep wound, saying the person’s pictures were “too beautiful and special” to be posted with an RIP tag.
Recalling their last conversation, Opeyemi said she had tearfully begged her loved one not to give up the fight, not to give her a reason to cry, and not to let death win.
Quoting her heartfelt tribute, she wrote:
“Sleep fails me, heart so heavy, can’t stop these tears from falling. Haa, you’ve pierced my heart so deeply. Your pictures are too beautiful and special to be uploaded with RIP inscribed.
The last time we spoke, it was with so many tears, and I begged you so much not to give up the fight. I begged you not to give me a reason to weep. I begged you not to allow death to win.
Some people believe praying for the departed is worthless, but not me. I will continuously pray for your sweet soul to rest peacefully.
You sacrificed so much and paid the ultimate price. Rest on, mini-me, as I fondly call you.”
The actress ended her tribute with a cry to God, “Haaa Jehovah!!”, expressing the depth of her pain
