Veteran entertainer, Charly Boy, has shared a memorable encounter with former presidential candidate Peter Obi.
On his X handle, Charly Boy recalled how Obi once paid him a surprise visit carrying a large “Ghana Must Go” bag. He revealed that the visit was unplanned, but because of his fondness for Obi, he welcomed him.
Charly Boy said he was curious about the content of the bag as they sat down to discuss Nigeria, politics, and family matters for almost two hours.
When Obi left, Charly Boy checked the bag, expecting something different, only to find it filled with local items — roasted groundnuts, alligator pepper, kolanuts, pawpaw, oranges, agara, mangoes, bananas, and more — all handpicked by Obi himself.
According to Charly Boy, Obi told him: “Senior, I no fit give you money, but I fit give you this one, na my hand pick.”
The entertainer said he couldn’t stop laughing and praised Obi’s gesture as a rare kind of “native intelligence.”
