Nigerian rapper Falz has finally addressed the backlash from fans after his viral pre-wedding photos turned out to be teasers for his new music video.
In a new Instagram video, the rapper described the reactions as funny, especially those claiming that people will no longer take him seriously when he truly gets married.
“One of the funniest things is, since the big reveal and everyone found out I’m not actually married, people have been saying this is like the boy who cried wolf. That when I eventually get married, nobody will care,” Falz said.
He, however, made it clear that marriage is a personal matter and not something he owes the public.
“Bold of you to assume that I want you to be in the marriage with me. Bold of you to assume that if I’m actually getting married, I’ll share it. But you never know, I might be so in love that I’d want the world to know. Best of luck and stay tuned. Thanks and God bless,” he added.
The viral pre-wedding stunt had earlier sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans feeling tricked while others praised his creativity in promoting new music.
