Guinness World Record holder and celebrity chef Hilda Baci has reassured fans about the cleanliness of the giant six-metre-wide pot she will use for her upcoming jollof rice record attempt at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos.
In a post on Instagram, Hilda revealed she personally washed the custom-made pot with a branded detergent, joking that she had to climb inside it to scrub it thoroughly. She promised that the pot would be rinsed and cleaned multiple times before cooking begins, assuring everyone that the food would be hygienic.
The free event, held in partnership with seasoning brand Gino, is expected to attract over 20,000 guests. Hilda said the pot would soon make “thousands of servings of Nigerian jollof history.”
This comes two years after she first gained global fame in May 2023, when she set a Guinness World Record with a 100-hour cooking marathon in Lagos.
