A Nigerian lady has shared a disturbing account of her friend’s alleged experience with an egg donation scheme in Lagos, which she described as a scam disguised as help for couples battling infertility.
According to her, the young woman was promised between ₦170,000 and ₦200,000 to donate her eggs, with claims that her height and fair skin influenced the high payout. After undergoing medical tests and being told she was fit, she returned the next day and was reportedly given drugs that left her feeling drowsy.
When she regained consciousness, doctors allegedly told her that her eggs were “bad” and that she would not receive payment. Days later, she began experiencing continuous bleeding.
Seeking help at another hospital, she was informed that her eggs had, in fact, been harvested and that she had been injected with hormones.
The shocking revelation has sparked fear and outrage online, with many calling for stricter regulation of fertility practices in Nigeria.
