Singer Kizz Daniel Denies Reports of Court Freezing His Bank Accounts

Award-winning Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has dismissed viral reports claiming that a court ordered the freezing of his personal and business bank accounts over a contractual dispute.

On Wednesday, several blogs and social media platforms alleged that the singer’s accounts had been frozen following a legal battle. Responding via Instagram, Kizz Daniel’s management issued a statement describing the reports as “false and malicious,” accusing those behind the claims of attempting to damage his reputation.

“Our artist is a professional who honours his contractual obligations and goes above and beyond to ensure fans all over the world enjoy his performances,” the statement read.

Clarifying the issue, the team explained that Kizz Daniel was booked to perform at the Afrobeats Meets Berlin concert scheduled for September 24, 2022, under a signed agreement with promoter Kejuro Media & Entertainment. However, they alleged the promoter failed to secure visas and flights for the singer and his team, which led to the cancellation of the show.

They stressed that the breach came from the promoter’s side, which entitled Kizz Daniel to full payment under the contract. They added that any future rescheduling would require fresh terms.

The controversy stems from the cancelled Berlin concert in 2022, where promoters accused the singer of holding onto a $50,000 performance fee. While some reports suggested a German court awarded $200,000 in damages against him, his team insists no such ruling exists, and no bank accounts have been frozen.

Kizz Daniel has previously faced public scrutiny over show cancellations, including a high-profile 2022 incident where he was briefly arrested in Tanzania after missing a scheduled performance.
