“That was the worst experience of my life” – TikToker Who Falsely Claimed Dayo Amusa Had HIV Shares Ordeal in Panti Cel

A Nigerian TikTok content creator, who falsely accused Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa of being HIV positive, has finally broken his silence after spending two days in detention at Yaba Panti Cell.

Back in July, Dayo Amusa had threatened to make an example of the TikToker, criticizing bloggers and content creators for spreading unverified information that deeply hurt her family and friends.

In a new video on his TikTok page, the young man recounted his harrowing experience in detention, describing it as the worst moment of his life after the death of his mother.

According to him, when he entered the cell, one of the rugged-looking inmates ordered him to prostrate and greet them. The cell, he revealed, had no furniture, only four pit latrines, and an open window that allowed mosquitoes to enter freely. He said the latrines smelled so terrible that it felt like the inmates were “sleeping inside them.”

He explained that he was lucky to be kept in a cell with cameras, which prevented the inmates from beating him. At one point, a cell leader who recognized him from TikTok came to his rescue and used his influence to protect him from other inmates.

“We were about 60 people in one cell. Some slept on the bare tiles while the leaders took over the broken bunk beds. The guy who recognized me gave me a wretched bed to sleep on. I controlled my tears so they wouldn’t see me as weak,” he said.

He also revealed that some inmates told him it was the same cell where singer Naira Marley was once kept.

Expressing regret, the TikToker thanked Dayo Amusa for forgiving him, saying her decision to withdraw the petition was the reason for his release.

“If not for Aunty Dayo Amusa’s forgiveness, I would still be there. I don’t ever pray to sleep in a cell again,” he added.

On her part, Dayo Amusa shared a video on Instagram explaining why she decided to forgive him. She said she had a change of heart after learning about his recent loss of his mother, his age, and after meeting with his relatives.
