The Nollywood industry has been hit with yet another tragedy as Yoruba actress Joke Jigan announced the painful loss of her sister, Lizzy.
Joke took to her Instagram page to share photos of herself with the deceased, expressing heartbreak and questioning the recent wave of deaths. In her post, the actress revealed that she is considering logging off social media because of the constant news of sorrow.
She wrote:
“Omoh! Be like na to log off all social media for now o because what in the name of death is going on??!! Rest in peace Lizzy my darling sis.”
Fans and colleagues quickly filled her comment section with words of sympathy and prayers. Portable’s babymama, Ashabi, wrote: “Ahhh. It is well o.”

This heartbreaking news comes only hours after it was reported that veteran actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only son, Ayomikun, who tragically died after slipping and falling in a bathroom.
With two painful losses hitting the Nollywood family almost back-to-back, social media has been thrown into mourning, with many calling for God’s mercy and an end to untimely deaths.
