RMD Speaks Out After Kwara Church Attack, Demands Justice for Worshippers

Veteran Nollywood actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD) has raised alarm over the growing insecurity in Nigeria following a fresh attack on a church in Eruku, Kwara State.

According to reports, suspected armed men invaded a church during service and abducted several worshippers, leaving the community in shock.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, RMD said the rising wave of violence across the country has become a “national tragedy” that Nigerians can no longer pretend about. He noted that the Kwara attack happened just days after 25 schoolgirls were abducted and a school vice principal was killed, describing the pattern as deeply troubling.

For the actor, these incidents are not just news headlines but warning signs of a nation losing its “moral and human compass.”

Quoting him, RMD wrote:
“What happened in Kwara is a wound to our collective soul. Innocent people, gathered in peace, met violence they did not deserve.”

He questioned why citizens should be afraid to worship and emphasized that no family should suffer the trauma of losing loved ones simply for practicing their faith.

RMD also praised Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo for courageously speaking out about Nigeria’s worsening security situation, saying his warnings must be taken seriously.

The actor criticized the repeated pattern of government inaction, stressing that Nigeria cannot continue relying on “silence, evasive statements, and endless committees” while people keep losing their lives.

He concluded by urging authorities to act immediately to protect citizens.
