“It’s My Personal Consecration” – Juliana Olayode Explains Why She Refuses to Kiss in Movies

Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode, also known as Toyo Baby, has addressed public reactions to her decision not to kiss in films, explaining that it is based on her personal faith and values.

Speaking on the issue, Olayode made it clear that her choice does not make her more spiritual than others in the industry. In her words, “I don’t kiss in movies, and I don’t think that we are closer to God than those people who do it or not; it is just my personal consecration.”

Reacting to claims that she is proud or difficult to work with, the actress strongly denied the allegations, saying, “Far from it.”

She also reassured movie producers and directors that she is open to working on different projects, despite her boundaries. According to her, “It is true that I would not kiss in movies. It is true that I will not wear certain things in a movie, but ejo, there are several other roles in your movies, call me, please.”

Olayode further stressed that she has no issues collaborating with anyone in the industry, as long as the role aligns with her beliefs. “There is absolutely NO producer or director I cannot work with … as long as the story and my role do not go against my consecration to God,” she stated.

Addressing rumours and misinformation about her personality, the actress said criticism is acceptable, but lies are not. “It’s okay if you don’t like me. It’s okay if you say I’m not a good actor; it’s okay if you don’t want to work with me. But lying about me is deeply wrong and hurtful,” she added.

Her comments have continued to generate discussions in Nollywood, with many weighing in on the balance between personal beliefs and professional expectations in the film industry.
