Tinubu Returns from Historic UK Visit After Meeting King Charles at Windsor Castle

President Bola Tinubu has returned from the United Kingdom after a two-day historic state visit hosted by the British royal family.

The President, who travelled with the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, departed Nigeria on March 17 and was received in the UK by King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

During the visit, King Charles hosted Tinubu and his delegation at Windsor Castle from March 18 to March 19. The trip marks the first state visit by a Nigerian leader to the UK in 37 years and the first time a Nigerian president has been hosted by a British monarch at Windsor Castle.

The visit focused on strengthening the long-standing relationship between Nigeria and the UK, with discussions centered on immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange.

While at the castle, the President and First Lady were shown a special exhibition from the Royal Collection highlighting items connected to Nigeria. King Charles also held private talks with Tinubu and met with organisations involved in interfaith dialogue.

The visit concluded with a state banquet hosted by the Royal Family in honour of the Nigerian delegation, marking a significant moment in diplomatic relations between both countries.
