“Clout chaser, stop this now!” — EFCC denies viral ‘wanted’ poster of Sabinus.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reacted to a viral poster claiming that Nigerian skitmaker Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ijekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, was declared wanted.

The poster, which spread widely on social media, caused confusion among fans and followers of the comedian. In response, the EFCC took to its official X platform to dismiss the claim, describing it as false.

The agency also criticised Sabinus, accusing him of seeking attention through the misleading content.

Following the EFCC’s reaction, the issue has sparked mixed reactions online. While some Nigerians supported the agency’s response, others urged the public to always verify information before sharing it, highlighting concerns over the spread of false news for publicity.
