President Bola Tinubu has announced new leadership appointments across several education agencies under the Federal Ministry of Education.
The appointments affect the National Examinations Council, National Board for Technical Education, the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam in Plateau State, and the National Library of Nigeria.
According to the announcement, Modupe Adelabu has been appointed as Chairman of NECO’s Governing Board, while the current registrar, Ibrahim Wushishi, will retain his position.
The President also appointed Bongfa Binfa as Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, N’yak-Shendam, Plateau State. In addition, Chinwe Anunobi has been reappointed as Director/Chief Executive of the National Library of Nigeria.
For NBTE, Babatunde Salako has been named as the new Chairman of the Governing Board, while Idris Bugaje was recently reappointed to continue as Executive Secretary for a second and final five-year term.
Modupe Adelabu, who now chairs NECO’s board, is a retired professor of educational administration from Obafemi Awolowo University. She previously served as Deputy Governor of Ekiti State between 2013 and 2014 and also chaired NBTE from 2018 to 2021.
The presidency said the appointments are part of efforts to strengthen leadership and improve performance in key education institutions across the country.
