Controversial Nigerian street singer Portable has publicly challenged music superstar Davido to a boxing match following recent viral videos involving comedian-turned-boxer Carter Efe.
The controversy started after clips surfaced online showing Davido and his team celebrating with Carter Efe after his reported victory over Portable in a celebrity boxing bout. In the videos, Davido was seen hugging Carter and laughing as the comedian proudly showed off his champion belt.
Reacting angrily to the footage, Portable took to social media to express disappointment, accusing Davido of not supporting his music career despite their previous meetings.
In his words, Portable said, “Davido, come fight me na,” directly challenging the Afrobeats star to a boxing match.
He also claimed that Davido’s past interactions with him did not contribute to his growth as an artist. According to him, during their first meeting, Davido only gave advice and bought him food at a restaurant. He added that in another encounter at a club, Davido bought him drinks but did not offer him a music collaboration.
Portable stated, “The first time we met, he only gave me advice and bought me food. The second time at a club, he bought me alcohol but never gave me a verse.”
The public outburst has sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans support Portable’s bold challenge, others have defended Davido, pointing to his history of helping and supporting upcoming artists in the music industry.
“Davido never helped me, he only gave me lot of bad advice and bought food for me the first time we met in a restaurant. Second time we met in a club, he bought alcohol for me but never gave me a verse”
