“Surrender now or face the full force of the Nigerian state,” Tinubu issues strong warning to bandits, kidnappers, and terror sponsors on Democracy Day.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sent a strong message to criminals threatening Nigeria’s security, including bandits, kidnappers, and those sponsoring terrorism, warning that they will face the full weight of the law if they continue their activities.

In a nationwide Democracy Day broadcast on Friday, June 12, the President said the government’s offer for surrender and repentance will not remain open forever. He stressed that those involved in violence and bloodshed must either give up or face serious consequences.

“To bandits, kidnappers, and sponsors of terror: surrender or face the full force of the Nigerian state. These windows of surrender will not remain open forever. No mercy will be shown to those who trade in the blood of Nigerians,” Tinubu said.

The President also addressed growing public discussions about insecurity in the country, warning Nigerians not to link crime to any ethnic group. He said insecurity should not be politicised or used to divide the nation.

“At a time like this, let us not assign blame or point fingers. Crime has no ethnicity. We must stand united and be assured that the enemies of our nation shall soon be history,” he added.

Tinubu expressed confidence that Nigeria will overcome its security challenges and come out stronger. He assured citizens that efforts are ongoing to defeat terrorism and restore peace across the country.

“We will triumph over terror and continue to build a more prosperous nation,” the President said, urging Nigerians to remain united in the fight against insecurity.

He further repeated his call for unity, insisting that criminal groups will eventually be defeated and peace will return to the nation.
