Victor Osimhen breaks silence on leaving Galatasaray after Chelle’s comments

Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has stated that he is not planning to leave the Turkish club, following comments that sparked speculation about his future.

The clarification came after remarks made by Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, who explained that Osimhen and teammate Ademola Lookman would miss Nigeria’s upcoming friendly matches against Poland and Portugal.

Chelle had suggested that Osimhen’s absence was linked to uncertainty over his club situation, adding that he preferred the striker to remain focused on settling his future.

Following the controversy, Osimhen released a statement on Instagram to clear the air and emphasize that his relationship with the coach remains respectful.

He wrote:

“Unfortunately, his words have been taken out of context and blown out of proportion. He has great respect for Galatasaray, follows most of our games, and never intended to create any controversy.”

Osimhen added that he appreciates the opportunity to represent Nigeria and has strong respect for Chelle.

“I appreciate the conversation, the opportunity to always represent my country, and I look forward to continuing to work with him. He is a great coach whom I respect a lot, and I kindly ask everyone to disregard the speculation surrounding this matter.”

The striker’s statement has since helped calm tensions, with fans now focusing on his commitment to Galatasaray and his role in the national team.
