Nollywood actor Adeniyi Johnson has expressed concern over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, questioning why many citizens now live in fear despite promises of a safer country.
In a post shared on Instagram, the actor voiced his frustration over the increasing cases of insecurity and the growing uncertainty faced by Nigerians.
According to him, citizens were promised ifọ̀kànbalẹ̀ (peace of mind), but many can no longer feel safe in their homes or communities.
Adeniyi questioned how the country reached a point where people are afraid for their safety and suggested that criminals appear to be operating with alarming confidence.
He also wondered whether bandits have become more effective than the nation's security agencies, noting that the crisis is now affecting people more directly than many had anticipated.
In his words:
“Where is the ifọ̀kànbalẹ̀ you promised us? We can’t sleep with our eyes closed anymore. Are the bandits smarter or wiser than our entire military force? It is now closer to us than we think. Government, please do the needful now.”
The actor's comments reflect the concerns of many Nigerians who have continued to call for stronger action against insecurity, kidnappings, and violent attacks across different parts of the country.
His post has since generated reactions online, with many supporters agreeing that urgent measures are needed to improve security and restore confidence among citizens.
