Nollywood actress Debbie Shokoya was overcome with emotion after her husband, Lukman Ejalonibu, surprised her with lavish birthday gifts, including a bouquet of cash, a birthday cake, and other thoughtful presents.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, the actress was seen shedding tears of joy as she received the surprise, which she described as one of the most memorable moments of her birthday celebration.
Expressing her gratitude in a lengthy post, Debbie revealed that the birthday celebration had begun days earlier with several countdown gifts from her husband. According to her, dispatch riders kept arriving with presents throughout the week, leaving her pleasantly surprised and convinced that the thoughtful gifts were the highlight of her birthday.
However, she said her husband went a step further on her birthday by presenting her with a surprise that included what she loves the most—money.
Sharing her excitement, she wrote:
“My Odogwu!! I screamed ‘LUKU’!! After getting birthday countdown gifts that got me all smiling throughout the week, dispatch riders did not let my phone stop buzzing… all from this amazing man!”
Debbie praised her husband for being intentional and attentive, noting that every gift reflected how well he understands her personality and what truly makes her happy.
“I thought that was all because the gifts blew my mind. Every gift speaks of intentionality. A man who paid attention to details and knows what can make his wife smile. He knows I am not a freak of things, but a few things get my mood lit up.”
The actress admitted that the cash gift eventually brought her to tears because her husband understood how much she values hard work and financial success.
“Then today, my birthday, he decided to give me a birthday surprise that came with what he knows I love and work hard chasing because I love to make it legally… MONEY, MONEY, MONEY. That money brought the tears that were supposed to come during the shock of the surprise.”
Speaking candidly about her love for financial independence, Debbie added:
“I know I like money; I love to make money; I love to spend money… Who doesn’t like money?”
She concluded her heartfelt tribute by showering her husband with praises, describing him as an honourable, intentional, blessed, intelligent, handsome, and supportive partner.
“My Honourable Sir. An Intentional Man. A Blessed Man. An Intelligent Man. A Handsome Man. A Supportive Partner. That’s who my husband is. I will come back with the epistle for my baby boy! For now… lemme go and count my money.”
