“So I’ll go and represent us alone, abi?” – Rotimi Salami reacts as late Allwell Ademola bags a nomination in Toronto, Canada.

Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami has expressed both joy and sadness after a movie he made with his late colleague, Allwell Ademola, received an international award nomination in Toronto, Canada.

Taking to his Instagram page, Salami announced that their movie, Kilanko, has been nominated in the Best Film by a Female Filmmaker (Nollywood) category at a film festival in Toronto.

While celebrating the achievement, the actor admitted that the moment was bittersweet because Allwell Ademola is no longer alive to witness the success of the project.

Sharing his emotions, Salami affectionately referred to the late actress as "Shuga Boo" and congratulated her on the nomination. He wrote that Kilanko had earned them a nomination in Toronto, Canada, before sadly adding that he would have to represent both of them alone at the event.

In his words, he wrote, "Shuga Boo, see o... Congratulations. Kilanko got you a nomination in Toronto, Canada for Best Film by a Female Filmmaker (Nollywood). So I will represent us alone, abi? All is well, sha."

He also expressed appreciation to the organisers of the Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival for recognising the movie, thanking them for the honour bestowed on the project.

The emotional post has touched many fans and colleagues, who congratulated the team on the international recognition while remembering Allwell Ademola's talent and contributions to the Nigerian film industry. Many also prayed that her legacy would continue to live on through her outstanding work and that her soul would rest in perfect peace.
