Tolu Arokodare Set for Ajax Move as Dutch Giants Close In on Transfer

Super Eagles striker Tolu Arokodare is reportedly on the verge of sealing a move to Dutch giants Ajax, with the Eredivisie club closing in on an agreement with Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers (Wolves).

The Nigerian forward is expected to leave Wolves after falling out of favour at the club. His future at Molineux came under further scrutiny following reports that he was involved in a training ground incident last week, prompting speculation that his time in England was nearing an end.

According to renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Ajax have made Arokodare their top attacking target and have already reached a club-to-club agreement with Wolves. The proposed deal is said to be an initial loan move with an option to buy, with the overall package valued at just over €20 million.

Romano revealed that while the agreement between both clubs has been finalized, the parties are now working to complete the remaining details before the transfer is officially announced.

A move to Ajax would mark a return to Dutch football for Arokodare, offering him the opportunity to revive his career and secure regular first-team football after a difficult spell at Wolves.

Before Ajax emerged as favourites for his signature, the Nigerian international had also been linked with moves to Italian Serie A clubs Fiorentina and Genoa. However, Ajax now appear to have won the race, with the deal edging closer to completion.
