Afrobeats superstar Davido has thrown down the gauntlet to other African artistes, challenging anyone who believes they can match his impressive catalogue of hit songs in a hit-for-hit battle.
The singer's challenge came after an X user praised his extensive collection of successful songs while comparing him with fellow Nigerian music star Olamide.
The user argued that Davido would comfortably outperform Olamide in a potential hit-for-hit contest, noting that despite the jokes often directed at the singer online, the difference in their catalogues was significant.
The post read:
“Davido is clearing Olamide hit for hit. I know we joke about Davido all the time, but it’s really not even close.”
Another user went further, claiming that no African artiste could go hit-for-hit with Davido.
Davido appeared to welcome the challenge, responding confidently with just two words:
“BRING IT ON.”
The response quickly drew attention from fans, with the singer seemingly ready to defend his position as one of Africa's most successful hitmakers.
