Music star Davido has taken a swipe at Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo following comments the governor made about his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The Edo governor had mocked Adeleke over his public dancing, suggesting that the Osun governor tends to dance before taking action. The comment reportedly drew a reaction from Davido, who has consistently defended his uncle against criticism from political opponents.
In an apparent response, Davido shared what appeared to be Okpebholo’s WAEC result on his social media page. Although the singer did not attach a caption to the post, the timing and content of the publication were widely interpreted by followers as a pointed response to the governor's remarks.
The post quickly generated reactions from social media users, with some praising Davido's response and others turning the exchange into a fresh online debate.
Among the reactions, Seun Babarinde wrote, “Aura for aura,” while Honourable OMM commented, “Why won’t you love Davido?” Other users also made references to the alleged academic result shared by the singer.
The latest exchange comes amid heightened political activity surrounding the Osun State governorship election, with Davido becoming increasingly vocal about issues involving his uncle and the state.
Earlier, former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad had also exchanged words with Davido while discussing the Osun election, with the former aide bringing up the singer's Grammy record during their online clash.
Davido has also appealed for a free and fair election, while highlighting his personal connection to Imo State through his wife, Chioma, who hails from the state.
The latest social media exchange between Davido and Governor Okpebholo has further added a celebrity dimension to the ongoing political conversations surrounding the Osun election.
