The ongoing public dispute surrounding the Okoye family has taken another dramatic turn after Henry Okoye, the elder brother of music duo P-Square, accused their former manager and brother, Jude Okoye, of being responsible for the family's longstanding division.
Speaking during an interview on Friday night, August 7, Henry claimed that Jude's alleged actions and character contributed significantly to the breakdown of relationships within the family.
Henry also disputed claims that Jude was solely responsible for building P-Square's successful music career. According to him, the family's support for Peter and Paul Okoye started long before Jude became involved in managing the duo.
He recalled how family members supported the twins during their early years, including travelling with them for shows, helping with promotional materials and providing transportation.
Henry said Jude only became involved in the management of P-Square after the twins had already begun making progress in their music career.
He further alleged that their late mother had initially opposed Jude managing the group because she was reportedly concerned about his character.
According to Henry, the situation changed after Jude took over management, claiming that Peter and Paul gradually became distant from other members of the family.
The elder Okoye brother also alleged that he was promised 20 per cent from each of P-Square's shows in recognition of his early financial and personal support for the duo. However, he claimed he never received the money.
Henry recounted an alleged confrontation with Jude over the arrangement, saying Jude questioned why he should receive the percentage. He maintained that Jude was not involved when the family initially supported Peter and Paul and accused him of attempting to push other family members away.
He specifically mentioned Tony Okoye, another elder brother who was reportedly involved with P-Square as a dancer, as one of those allegedly affected by the family tensions.
Henry further claimed that his relationship with Jude has deteriorated to the point where they have not spoken for almost two years. He also alleged that Jude distanced himself from other relatives who were struggling, including their youngest sister.
The latest allegations add another layer to the increasingly public Okoye family dispute, which has already seen Peter, Paul and Jude exchange accusations over their family relationships, music business and financial dealings.
