Afrobeat musician Seun Kuti has finally addressed the controversy surrounding his early exit from Peller and Jarvis' traditional wedding, dismissing reports that he left the ceremony in anger.
The speculation began after a viral video showed the son of legendary Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti leaving the wedding before the event ended. Reports on social media claimed Seun was upset after the event's MC allegedly declared that Wizkid is bigger than Fela, prompting him to walk out while saying he was "in the wrong place."
However, speaking while spending time with Fuji singer Malaika, Seun denied the claims, insisting there was no disagreement or confrontation at the wedding.
According to the Afrobeat star, he simply left because he wanted to visit the New Afrika Shrine, accusing bloggers of twisting the situation to create unnecessary controversy.
Reacting to the viral reports, Seun sarcastically questioned whether he was expected to dance his way out of the ceremony just to avoid speculation.
"I left the wedding to go to the Shrine, and these bloggers twisted things, saying I was angry. Maybe I should have danced out of the ceremony," he said.
His clarification has since sparked reactions online, with many fans saying the explanation puts an end to the rumours, while others criticized bloggers for jumping to conclusions without confirming the facts.
