Nollywood actress Toyosi Adesanya has expressed disappointment with some of her colleagues for allegedly failing to attend the candlelight and night of tribute held in honour of late actress Temitope Osoba.
The tribute event took place on Tuesday, August 11, at LTV 8 in Ikeja, Lagos, as colleagues, friends and loved ones gathered to remember the late actress.
However, only a handful of Nollywood stars were reportedly present, including Toyosi Adesanya, Jigan Babaoja, Alesh Sanni and Foluke Daramola. The absence of several prominent Yoruba actors reportedly became noticeable during the event.
Speaking at the gathering, Toyosi voiced her frustration over what she described as the neglect of the late actress by some members of the industry.
According to Toyosi, some Nollywood colleagues allegedly “beefed” Temitope Osoba because she did not belong to their association, suggesting that professional affiliations may have contributed to the limited attendance at her tribute.
The actress also shared details of her final conversation with Temitope, revealing that the late actress had reached out to her and asked her to continue contacting her whenever there were job opportunities.
Toyosi’s remarks have sparked conversations about unity, professional associations and support among Nollywood actors, particularly regarding how colleagues come together to honour one of their own after death.
The candlelight tribute ultimately served as an opportunity for those who attended to remember Temitope Osoba, while Toyosi’s emotional comments highlighted what she believes was a lack of support for the late actress during her final days and after her passing.
