Nollywood actor and activist Yomi Fabiyi has called for the postponement of the burial of his late colleague, Temitope Osoba, amid disturbing allegations surrounding the circumstances of her death.
In a press release, Fabiyi urged the relevant authorities and family members to put the burial on hold until a thorough investigation is conducted.
According to him, allegations and rumours involving rape, possible murder and extortion are serious enough to warrant a full investigation before the actress is laid to rest.
Fabiyi expressed concern that proceeding with the burial before the police investigation could make it necessary for Osoba's remains to be exhumed later for an autopsy if investigators require further forensic examination.
Describing the situation as disturbing, the actor called for justice for the late actress and urged authorities to establish the facts surrounding her death before any burial arrangements proceed.
His statement read in part:
“These allegations/rumours of rape, likely murder, extortion, etc., are quite disturbing. The burial should be on hold, please. This girl’s spirit cries for justice.”
Fabiyi further stressed that Osoba should not be buried until a full investigation has been completed and the circumstances surrounding her death established.
The call comes amid growing public interest and speculation over the circumstances surrounding the actress's death, with several claims circulating online. The allegations mentioned in Fabiyi's statement have not been established as facts based on the information provided.
