Nigerian singer and controversial content creator Portable has shown support for one of his signees, Starlight, by promising to provide financial assistance for his education.
In a video shared online, Portable revealed that Starlight had recently gained admission to Ilaro Polytechnic and reached out to him for help with his school fees.
According to the young artiste, he needed ₦250,000 to settle his school fees. However, Portable offered to double the amount, promising to give him ₦500,000 instead.
Portable also encouraged his signee to stop depending on his mother for his school expenses, stating that he had now taken responsibility for him as his “father” and would be available to support him financially.
In the video, the singer said:
“Starlight, what did you say you need in my DM?”
When the artiste explained that he needed money for his school fees at Ilaro Polytechnic, Portable asked how much was required.
After Starlight mentioned ₦250,000, Portable responded:
“I will give you N500,000. Don’t ask your mum for school fees; come and ask me. I am your father. You know I am just coming back from the UK. You’re my artist.”
Portable’s gesture has attracted attention online, with the singer once again portraying himself as a supportive figure to artists signed to his label.
Portable promised to give ₦500,000 for school fees to his signee, who just gained admission to Ilaro Polytechnic and had asked for ₦250,000.
