**OFFICIAL STATEMENT: I HAVE NOT DEFECTED TO THE APC**
There have been rumours circulating that I have moved to the All Progressives Congress (APC). Yesterday, I received a message from Abuja concerning this speculation. I want to use this opportunity to categorically debunk the rumour and make my position clear: **I have not defected to the APC, and I have no intention of joining the party.**
It is true that approaches have been made to me, with invitations to join the APC and offers of better political positions. However, I remain firm in my convictions and political principles. I cannot abandon my beliefs and commitments simply because of political offers or personal gains.
His Excellency, **Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has been my political father and mentor for decades.** I cannot stand with him for so many years and abandon him at a critical moment when our collective political aspirations are before us. My loyalty and commitment remain unwavering.
Let me also reaffirm that **I remain a committed member of our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC).** I am focused and determined to contribute my quota towards the success of our party, particularly in delivering my ward and, most importantly, my polling unit.
With over **30 years of political experience**, from the Alliance for Democracy (AD) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and now the ADC, I am neither a political novice nor a politician who can be easily swayed by political pressure or personal inducements. I understand the value of loyalty, consistency, and commitment to a cause.
I am a principled, careful, and focused politician. I am not desperate for political positions, nor am I prepared to compromise my convictions for personal benefits. My political journey has taught me that politics should be guided by principles, vision, and service to the people.
Therefore, I urge my supporters, associates, and the general public to disregard the rumour of my alleged defection to the APC. **I remain firmly in the ADC, and there has been no change in my political position.**
Thank you all for your trust, confidence, and continued support. I deeply appreciate your belief in me, and I assure you that I will continue to stand by my convictions.
**Yours in service and commitment,**
**Capt. Ojo Omotade, Esq.**
