Nollywood actress Bidemi Kosoko is celebrating her 40th birthday with gratitude, joy and an emotional tribute to her late mother.
The actress marked the milestone by sharing a video of herself dancing and celebrating her new age. However, she revealed that the occasion also brought back painful memories of her mother, who is no longer alive to celebrate the special moment with her.
Bidemi disclosed that the first call she received exactly at midnight came from her father, veteran actor Jide Kosoko, who showered her with prayers and blessings as she welcomed her 40th birthday.
According to the actress, the emotional moment brought tears to her eyes as she remembered her late mother and how much she wished she could celebrate the milestone with her.
Bidemi expressed gratitude to her father for standing by her and filling the role of both parents since her mother’s passing. She praised him for his unwavering love, support and prayers throughout her life.
The actress described herself as grateful to God for reaching 40 and acknowledged the role her father has played in helping her navigate life without her mother.
She wrote:
“I woke up this morning with so much joy in my heart! Today, I am 40 and grateful!
“The first call I got at exactly 12 AM was from my dad, showering me with prayers and blessings.
“At that moment, tears filled my eyes.
“My mum is no longer here to celebrate with me, and I miss her so much every day, but God has been faithful. Even in the absence of my mum, my dad has been everything – both a father and a mother to me.
“He never left any gap; he stood by me, supported me, and loved me unconditionally.
“Thank you, Daddy, for filling both roles beautifully, for your love and your prayers. Thank you, Jesus, for 40 years.”
Bidemi’s birthday celebration was therefore marked by a mixture of happiness and emotion as she reflected on her journey, celebrated her father’s unwavering support and remembered her late mother.
She ended her message by thanking God for the gift of life and for bringing her to the significant milestone of 40.
