Social media personality VeryDarkMan has sparked political debate after praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his strong political strategy and ability to take advantage of political opportunities.
In a statement circulating online, VeryDarkMan argued that Tinubu’s political influence is not necessarily based on his policies or the state of the economy, but on the way he understands and plays the political game. A recent report also quoted him making similar comments about Tinubu’s political approach. NewsFlash NGR
According to the social commentator, Tinubu has a strong ability to identify opportunities, including seemingly small political developments, and use them to strengthen his position and put opponents under pressure.
VeryDarkMan contrasted Tinubu’s approach with that of opposition figures, including Peter Obi, whom he criticised for what he described as a lack of political boldness.
He said:
“Peter Obi and others don’t have the balls Tinubu has. President Tinubu is the greatest politician of all time in this country, not because of his policies or the economy, but because of how he plays the game of politics.”
He further claimed that Tinubu understands how to turn political situations to his advantage, adding that this strategic approach is what he believes sets the President apart from his opponents.
VeryDarkMan also referred to the situation surrounding former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s detention to explain his argument. He suggested that if Tinubu were in the opposition, he would have used the situation more aggressively to mobilise supporters, organise rallies and place political pressure on his opponents. The social media personality’s comments come as political activities intensify ahead of Nigeria’s 2027 general election, with Tinubu seeking a second term and opposition figures including Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar remaining prominent in the political conversation. Reuters
VeryDarkMan’s remarks have consequently generated discussion over political strategy, opposition tactics and the growing importance of political mobilisation as parties prepare for the 2027 election.
