Toluwanisings’ Widow Agrees to Bury Late Singer at Family Home as Associate Calls for Peace

Damilola Olayemi, the widow of late Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings, has reportedly agreed to have her husband buried at his family home in Ibadan, Oyo State, following an earlier disagreement with his relatives over his final resting place.

The development was disclosed by Lanre Alewilese, a close associate and colleague of the deceased, who appealed to Nigerians to stop attacking the widow and allow her to grieve in peace.

The disagreement reportedly began after members of Toluwanisings’ family alleged that Damilola, who is 32 years old, opposed their plan to bury the singer at their family home in Ibadan.

However, while speaking about the controversy surrounding the singer’s death and burial arrangements, Alewilese revealed that the misunderstanding between the widow and the deceased’s father had been resolved.

According to him, both parties have now agreed that Toluwanisings should be laid to rest at his family home.

He also described Damilola as an accommodating woman, insisting that those who worked closely with the late singer, including his band members, could testify to her character.

Appealing for understanding, Alewilese urged social media users to consider the emotional burden the young widow is facing rather than adding to her pain through criticism and online attacks.

In his words:

“Please, for God’s sake, let peace reign. Damilola is very young for what she’s currently going through. I’m very close to the deceased; his wife is accommodating. All his band members can attest to this.

“The disagreement between Toluwanisings’ father and his widow has been resolved. What happened was just a misunderstanding. The duo have agreed to bury Toluwanisings at his house.

“Please, Nigerians, let there be peace. If you truly love the singer, let his wife have peace now that his burial place has been resolved.”

Alewilese’s intervention comes amid public discussions and reactions surrounding the relationship between Toluwanisings’ widow and his family following his death.

His appeal has also shifted attention towards the need for both parties to settle their differences peacefully and focus on giving the late singer a respectful burial.

With the burial location reportedly agreed upon, the associate has urged Nigerians to respect Damilola’s grief and refrain from making comments that could worsen the difficult period she is experiencing.
