Bola Tinubu Reveals That Buhari And Dapo Abiodun Wouldn't Be President and Governor Without Him

On Thursday, June 2, All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu stated that he led the political aspiration that resulted in the victory of Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria's Currrent President, in 2015. The former Lagos governor also revealed that he picked Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as Buhari's running mate when speaking to delegates in Ogun ahead of the APC primaries.

Tinubu, who made the assertion in the home state of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, one of his presidential contenders, claimed Buhari gave him a running mate ticket, but some factions rose up against him, stoking the embers of a Muslim-Muslim ticket.

He said that he had penciled in Yemi Kadoso, Wale Edun, and Yemi Osinbajo as possible candidates, but that he eventually chose the Professor of Law.

Tinubu said;

In recounting how he persuaded Buhari to run for president in 2015, the former governor of Lagos state also said:


Dapo Abiodun would not have been elected Governor of Ogun State without Tinubu, according to Tinubu.'

He continued,



In response, Abiodun, who had previously stated his support for Osinbajo's candidacy, declined to back Tinubu.


Abiodun noted that delegates from the state will do 
"the right thing" during the convention, describing Tinubu as a political warrior, serial winner, and strategist.
