Actor Sanni Alesh Honors Funke Akindele For Making Nollywood History Despite Pain

Yoruba Nollywood actor Sanni Alesh recently took to Instagram to express his admiration for Funke Akindele, who he referred to as "Aunty Funke." In a heartfelt post that included a photo of the actress, Sanni Alesh praised Funke Akindele for her courage, personality, and her goal-getting attitude. He commended her for breaking barriers and making history in Nollywood as the first actress to have her name printed on a ballot, despite the loss she suffered at the ongoing Lagos gubernatorial polls.

Sanni Alesh's tribute to Funke Akindele generated a lot of buzz on social media as fans and followers joined him in celebrating the actress for her remarkable achievements. It is noteworthy that Funke Akindele had broken another record in the Nigerian film industry when her latest movie, Battle on Buka Street, beat her own record for the highest-grossing film at the Nigerian box office. The film netted 640 million nairas, breaking the record set by her 2020 release, Omo Ghetto The Saga, which grossed 636 million nairas. This achievement underscores Funke Akindele's dominance in Nollywood, and Filmone, in an Instagram post, noted that the actress's only competition was with herself.
