The rumored cause of the rift is JJC Skillz's alleged new marriage to an Ebira woman named Falilat Raji. According to reports, the private wedding was held on February 10, 2023, in Kano state, and had only family and friends in attendance. A wedding invitation that surfaced online had the singer's name and that of his reported new wife on it.

JJC Skillz denied the reports when Kemi Filani reached out to him for comment on March 1st, photos of him and his alleged new wife at an event have surfaced on social media. The images captured the alleged new wife, flanked by some close associates, looking stunning in a traditional outfit while JJC Skillz stood beside her.

These photos have caused some netizens to criticize JJC Skillz for moving on so quickly from his ex, Funke Akindele. It should be noted that JJC Skillz announced the end of their seven-year union in June of last year, citing irreconcilable differences.
