Today, April 28th, a portion of the Ooni of Ife's palace experienced a devastating fire, believed to have been caused by a power surge. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm, shortly after electrical appliances within the impacted apartment exploded, leading to the courtyard of the palace being engulfed in flames.
To extinguish the fire, a collaborative effort was required, involving the fire service, palace aides, and local residents. Palace spokesperson, Otunba Moses Olafare, has confirmed that the situation has been successfully managed and is now under control.
