Singer Portable In Hot Water: Arrested By Ogun Police After Ignoring Ultimatum

Afrobeats singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command after he failed to honor a police invitation. This follows after videos of him resisting arrest and verbally abusing police officers went viral. The videos showed him shouting at the police officers and insisting that he did nothing wrong.

The police then issued a 72-hour ultimatum for him to report himself to the nearest police station or be arrested. However, he refused to show up, and he was subsequently arrested on Friday, March 31, after the deadline had expired.

According to the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, Portable had refused five invitations before his arrest. He also confirmed that the singer is currently in police custody at the state headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta, and will remain in custody until Monday, April 3, when he will be charged to court.

It is unclear what the charges against him will be, but he is expected to face consequences for refusing to comply with the police's request.
