Raymond Dokpesi, the politician and founder of DAAR Communications, passed away at 71. Family sources confirm that he died while receiving medical treatment at an Abuja hospital. Dokpesi had been dealing with health issues since suffering a stroke after observing the Ramadan fast. 

In an official statement, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr, his son, sadly announces his father's death. The statement describes Raymond Dokpesi as a beloved figure who was a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. His passing occurred on May 29th, 2023. The statement acknowledges his significant contributions as a successful businessman, media industry pioneer, and philanthropist dedicated to serving his country and community.
