Queen Tobi Philips, one of the wives of the Ooni of Ife, has taken to her Instagram page to make a bold statement following reports of her husband's new marriage. In a video she shared, Queen Tobi thanked her fans for their concern and support while she was absent from the photo-sharing app. She also hinted that she has a lot of entertainment in store for her followers, saying "Y'all better fasten your seat belts cos back to back lewwksss".
The queen's statement comes just days after her husband, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, announced that he had taken a new wife, Queen Opeoluwa Elizabeth Akinmuda, as his sixth wife. The announcement caused a stir online, especially among his other wives, who were reported to have expressed their displeasure at the news.
According to City People, an invitation has been issued to family and friends of the Ooni royals for the Thanksgiving service scheduled to hold on Saturday, May 20, 2023. The event will be preceded by the traditional entry of the new Queen into the ancient Ife Oodua Palace of Ile-Ife this Thursday.
