Wumi Toriola Urges Schools and Parents to Protect Children Amid Intense Heat in Nigeria

Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has appealed to schools and parents to take extra precautions to protect children amid the intense heat currently being experienced in parts of Nigeria.

The actress shared the message in a social media post, expressing concern about the effects of the hot weather on schoolchildren and urging adults to prioritise their health and comfort during this period.

Wumi called on school authorities to put additional measures in place to ensure that children remain safe while attending classes, particularly as temperatures continue to rise.

She also advised parents to provide their children with extra drinking water, encourage them to stay hydrated throughout the school day and ensure they wear light clothing suitable for the hot weather.

Describing herself as a concerned mother, the actress stressed the importance of taking simple but necessary steps to help children cope with the heat.

In her words, “As a concerned mother, I appeal to our schools to take extra precautions during this period of intense heat.

“And parents, increase their water bottles, add extra water, remind them to hydrate well and dress lightly.

“Just a reminder as we enter a new week.”

Wumi Toriola’s message serves as a reminder to parents and school administrators to pay attention to children’s well-being during periods of extreme heat. Staying hydrated, wearing lightweight clothing and taking appropriate precautions can help reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses.

Her appeal has also highlighted the need for cooperation between schools and parents to ensure that children remain comfortable and safe while carrying out their daily activities.
