A coalition of civil society organizations, known as the Movement For Justice (MFJ), has issued an official statement.

The statement calls for the swift extradition and arrest of Nigerian musician Naira Marley, also known as Azeez Adeshina Fashola, from the United Kingdom.

This demand is linked to the tragic death of singer Mohbad, professionally known as Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba.

The statement bears the signatures of key members, including Co-Conveners Ayo Ademiluyi and Ayoyinka Oni, Secretary Fidel Davynovich, and Publicity Secretary Francis Nwapa.

The Movement for Justice has actively supported nationwide and international protests and candlelight vigils in memory of Mohbad.

They call for continued collective actions and advocate for ongoing mass actions until justice is secured for the late singer.

The coalition expresses concern about individuals connected to the Nigerian state being associated with Mohbad's persecutors and bullies.

While welcoming the arrest of one individual, Sam Larry, they unequivocally demand Naira Marley's extradition and arrest within 48 hours by the Nigeria Police Force.

The group lacks confidence in the Nigeria Police's ability to conduct a trustworthy investigation into Mohbad's death.

They criticize the dispersal of mourners at the Lekki Toll Gate who were advocating for justice for Mohbad.

The coalition plans to mark the Memorial Anniversary of the Lekki Massacre on October 20, 2023, at the Lekki Toll Gate.

They intend to establish an Independent Panel of Inquiry to investigate issues surrounding Mohbad's death, involving youth organizations, civil society organizations, and professional associations.

The coalition also highlights other unresolved cases of unlawful killings, including that of Bamise Ayanwola and Mubarak Sanyaolu.

They schedule mass actions for justice and an end to eviction and demolition in the Oworoshoki community in Lagos State, citing alleged support by the Nigeria Police and the Lagos State Government.

Two community activists have been arrested, and their immediate release is demanded.

A mass action is planned at the Lagos State House of Assembly, which is holding a Public Hearing on the Oworoshoki community matter on October 3, 2023.
