Father of Late Singer Mohbad Reveals How He Met His Wife Amid Controversy

Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has shared the story of how his son met his wife, Wunmi. This significant encounter occurred while both Mohbad and Wunmi were associated with Naira Marley's Marlian Music label.

Mohbad's untimely demise has been surrounded by controversy since September 12th, 2023, leading to questions about the circumstances of his tragic passing.

Joseph Aloba described Mohbad as a humble and unassuming person, with their friendship dating back to their early years in Oke-Iletu, Ikorodu, Lagos. However, it was only later, when they both joined Naira Marley's label, that they reconnected. During their initial meeting in Oke-Iletu, there was no particular bond or attachment between them.

It is reported that Wunmi gave birth to Liam, the son of the late Mohbad.

Aloba clarified the connection by referencing Mohbad's song "Komajensun," particularly pointing out the lyric, "Naira lo gbe omo fun mi, I'm not a womaniser," as a reference to how Mohbad reconnected with Wunmi at Marlian Records.

The Lagos State Police Command has initiated an investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding Mohbad's tragic demise. The Coroner's inquest into his death has scheduled October 13, 2023, as the date for witnesses to testify before it.

Attorney Funmi Falana, who represents Mohbad's family, along with other lawyers, conducted closed-door proceedings to deliberate on the arrangements for presenting evidence. Speaking to the journalist after the proceedings, Falana stated, "What we did today was to determine the procedures and timing for seeking justice. The date has been set, and we will be presenting our witnesses."
