Meet Adedeji The Son Of Late Yoruba Veteran Actor Baba Alaran

Mufutau Oladokun, affectionately known as Baba Alaran, held an esteemed position as an iconic comic actor in Nollywood, particularly within the Yoruba movie sector. Born on December 28, 1961, he began his acting journey in the early 1990s, gracing numerous Yoruba movie productions. Known for his distinctive acting style and impeccable comedic timing, he effortlessly embodied various roles, bringing laughter to audiences.

Baba Alaran's impact on the Nigerian film industry earned him numerous awards and nominations. As a pioneer in the Yoruba movie realm, he served as an inspiration to actors and comedians, leaving an indelible mark on Nollywood. His unfortunate passing in August 2021 was a significant loss within the Yoruba Nollywood community and among his devoted fans.

Notably, Baba Alaran's journey into acting was unplanned. Initially employed as a driver for the Awada Kerikeri Theatre Group, fate took a turn when he had the chance to step in for an absent actor at a movie location. This unexpected beginning marked the inception of his illustrious career in the Nigerian movie industry.

Beyond his successful acting and comedy career, Baba Alaran was a dedicated family man, leaving behind his wife and four children. His commitment to family reflected a sense of responsibility that extended beyond his on-screen endeavors.

One of Baba Alaran's children, Adedeji Oladokun 'Alaran,' followed in his father's footsteps and entered the world of entertainment. Deji Alaran, a graduate in Conservation Science and Tourism from Obafemi Awolowo University, organized an event in 2019 titled 'The Mark of a Legend' to honor his late father's 13th remembrance anniversary. The event brought together notable Yoruba Nollywood actors, serving as a poignant tribute to Baba Alaran's enduring legacy.

In 2020, Deji Alaran celebrated personal joy by marrying Sera Miller, surrounded by loved ones and friends. Embracing fatherhood, Deji Alaran cherishes his adorable daughter born in 2018, creating a growing family that reflects the joy and satisfaction he derives from both his personal life and career as an entertainer.
